I sent in my receipt and original UPC bar code from my PS3 console back on July 3rd. I'm clearly not getting my 5-free Blu-rays.

Here's the thing...I was lucky enough to mail it with delivery confirmation, which I did receive with someone's signature back in July.

Anyone know what I can do at this point in time? I'd really like those 5-free Blu-ray movies I selected.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Search for other threads on this topic, in this very forum, and you'll find a phone number you can call. They are very nice and will give you a date it shipped (if it has) or will give you an estimate. I sent mine out in July, and received my disks a few weeks ago.

I sent mine in July, yet my disks all still say 'In process'. I wonder if the delay may be on particular titles. Those that got their disks already may have requested disks they had in stock. Just a guess. I'm getting rather impatient - at least now with the link I know my request didn't get lost in the mail.

If you are from the US, you can call this customer support number and they can tell you if you movies have been shipped or whatever.
You just have to give them some info first like Name, Address, etc..

This is my situation exactly. Same supposed ship date. I guess someone was drinking that day. They said to call back Thursday and if I don't have them then they will reship them (even though I waited the 30 days and I have never had anything take more than5 days to get to me).

I'm glad someone started this thread because I'm in the same boat. I mailed them my receipt and bar code at the beginning of August and was starting to worry that either they never received my letter or the rebate was just some sort of sales pitch and nothing else. So I just called the 1-800 # posted and they said they had all my info and expect another 3 weeks before delivery. I feel better now!

Yeah, I bought a Toshiba XA2 and a PS3 and the orders were both sent to ElPaso, TX to the same zipcode. The P.O. boxes were different, but not by much!

I just realized... Sony had a five free DVD promotion back in 1998 with purchase of 5 disc changer I still haven't watched those movies yet titles available weren't all that great back then either..I guess I'll just keep waiting on the blu-ray movies to come when they do.

The website showed my status as "shipped" on 9/26/07 so I was expecting a box of blu-rays to be at my door soon.

Instead what was "shipped" was a postcard stating that due to high demand there is a delay and the expected ship date is now 11/4/2007.

Also attached was a pre-paid return card offering me the chance to cancel my order if I don't wish to wait. LOL.

I got the same post card yesterday(9-29-07) in the mail stating the same date of "will be shipped by 11-4-07". I sent original rebate in on July 2nd. i think it may have something to do with the movies you picked as well.?.?.? :mad:

Thier website shows the Status as "Shipped on 10/2/2007" and i got the infamous postcard last Friday. Anyone knows where they ship from and how long it will take to reach PA?

I have a birthday coming up, and am thinking about asking for a BD player.

If I do this, and ask my family member to buy it from Amazon.com (for example), I have a few questions.

For people that deal with Amazon...I know they send the item inside of an amazon box...but inside that amazon box, will the player (more than likely) come in its original box? I ask because I need the UPC code from the original box to get the 5 BD movies.

Second Q...it seems I need my receipt. If the family member buys it for me and the order arrives at my door...will there be a receipt inside the box with all the info I'd need to get the 5 BD movies? Or, because I didn't purchase the item myself, there won't be a receipt in the box?

I would email amazon themselves, but everytime I go to do it, it freezes my browser.

Also, which UPC code do you send in from the box for the PS3 (there are 2 on mine)? Can you make a photocopy of the UPC or do you really have to cut it out of the box?

Got the postcard last week advising a delay until 11/4, yet in todays mail, my 5 titles, ordered mid-July, finally arrived!

Got all five titles I ordered in pristine condition (Transporter 2, Italian Job, Chicken Little, Corpse Bride, and Underworld Evolution.) 2 of them had stickers on the outside of the shrink wrap over the UPC that came off easily without damaging the shrink wrap at all (Underworld and Corpse Bride) and the Italian Job has a $24.99 best buy sticker on the front under the shrink wrap on the case itself. I haven't opened any of them but Underworld as I'll probably ebay them (although I'll admit to being tempted to "exchange" them for titles I want.)

Well, I originally started this thread hoping to get some info on my Free blu-ray movies.

After a looooong wait (mailed it in on July 3rd), I finally received my 5 Free Blu-rays.

Whoever else mailed it in back in July and never received your movies, I think you'll receive them really soon.

After talking with the promo company it looks like I still have a month or so, dont get me wrong I like the free movies but waiting all summer is foolish, I would have rather had 2 free movies instantly with my purchase from both formats.

Who delivered the movies? USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL? Mine say shipped 8/23 and they still aren't here. Going to call the phoneline tomorrow and see if I can get any father with them then last time I called.

I sent mine in the first week of August, and I showed up for the first time on the site today. Granted, I haven't checked in about two weeks, but still... more than two months just to acknowledge that I sent in an order is rediculous. But now that I'm in the system, it says to allow 4-10 weeks for them to ship them, and up to 30 days for the order to make it here. If i get them before new year's I'll be thrilled.

Sent the materials Certified Mail Oct 4. No return-receipt yet, but I called their phone number (1-800-598-9671) and spoke with a very nice gentleman. He verified the materials had been received and would be shipping shortly. He indicated an e-mail would be sent when the order is mailed, and to allow 3-4 weeks for receipt of the movies.

I sent mine in in the beginning of august and just received them today. They sent me stir of echoes instead of Italian Job though. enclosed was a notes apologizing for the delay and the substitution, but they were out of one of my titles.

Just got news from a friend of mine who also JUST received his 5 free movies. He too sent his in at the beginning of Aug.

It took 14 weeks, but he's got them.

...well, all of them except The Itialian Job. A note was added stating the movie wasn't available on Blu-ray anymore. It was replaced with Stir of Echoes.

funny i completely forgot about this until i saw this thread. i checked and mine allegedly shipped on 10/31. I don't even remember when i mailed in the rebate, mid summer i guess...

Bah. I feel like this is something of a bait and switch. Out of the five movies that I picked (out of a crappy selection to begin with) they sent me TWO of the ones I requested, and swapped out the other three.

Finally received mine today, 11/5. Took 14.5 weeks from the day I mailed the rebate form. Web site reflected "Shipped 10/31" on 11/2, after many weeks of showing "In Process."

Unlike some other reports, mine arrived in good shape and all titles were as ordered.

Funny about the Italian Job switches. I'd sooner hope to get X-men 3 than Stir of Echoes though. I guess I can be sure I won't be getting The Italian Job though, right?

I finally got mine in the mail today (November 9th) - exact same titles except they swapped me Stir of Echoes for The Italian Job instead of X-Men 3. Mailed in August 10th, shipped November 1st. This now bring my HDM collection to a grand total of...umm...five. :p

Mine finally arrived, all that I wanted as well. Finally, but I can't really complain for free movies.

FWIW, I received mine after 3 months. Got a 3rd PS3 earlier. In all that time, I already have all these movies, so I'm probably giving it away to some close friends.

I got Babel in my shipment and I asked for happy feet (just kidding).

After reading all of these posts, I checked and it says mine were mailed out earlier in the week. It seems like they send things out in big waves.

I still haven't gotten mine, I'll have to try to remember to call again on Monday. I'm really, really tempted to just pick up Invincible finally - I've had a strange urge to see that movie.

I think this whole thing is really sh*tty. I got my $100 Verizon MIR check 10 days after mailing it in. Why the HELL is this rebate taking so effing long for everyone?! Perhaps the company BVE decided to go with to execute the rebate is just a terrible company...

Anyone here that can tell me roughly how long their rebate took to show on the system after getting sent to the company?

I just called to check and see if they had received my paperwork and the lady said that I wasn't being shown in the system.

I am not worried about how long it will take to get the movies. I waited along time for my HD DVD's to arrive already, so the wait is no big deal to me. I just want to make sure they received my paperwork and not wait for months to find out that they didn't.

I sent the paperwork on Oct. 17th. Should I be concerned and re-submit it again or does it take a while just to show up as received?

Dang. Got mine today (shipped 11/15), and found they'd substituted Deja Vu (which we've already seen, and disliked) for Babel. I called the number, but the guy I talked to said Babel was out of stock with no more expected, as was Happy Feet (which my wife at least likes). I pushed him to substitute something else, but couldn't get anything except to register a complaint. I may try back in a few days to see if I have any better luck.

I don't remember picking Stir of Echoes. I think they switched one of my movies, but I can't remember which one I originally picked. I think it was either Devil's Rejects or Babel..

She did say that they're out of Black Rain, Babel, and The Italian Job, so anyone who is waiting for those three movies might as well buy them now somewhere else, because you won't be getting them for free.

My July order arrived today as well. My grab bag replacement for Babel was Xmen: The Last Stand. I am fine with the switch considering the hundreds of movies they could have chosen from xmen is not too bad.

I called the Canadian distributor (Disney) this morning. They were very helpful, confirmed that my order was approved on October 18th and that it would take 8 to 10 weeks from that date to receive them.

Corpse Bride is a decent movie I thought and it is a Tier 0 movie.

It ships regular first class mail. The envelope they came in was a little beat up, but the movies were fine.They shipped my movies on 11-8-07 and I received them on 11-13-07. Pearl Harbor, Underworld Evolution, Italian Job, Corpse Bride, and Transporter 2.

Mine were indicated as shipped on 11/12 and on 11/19 the envelope arrived open. Only 2 of the 5 were in there. Obvious mail tampering. I called the 800 number on their site and they directed me to the marketing company who did the actual mailing. Allegedly, they will send me the 3 titles which I told them were missing. I won't be holding my breath for them to arrive any time soon.

Anyone else receive tampered envelopes? The marketing company said I was not the first call they received with this complaint.

Interesting, they must get our orders in constantly, but only the discs to ship out like every month or so. So, they queue up all the orders and ship out as many as they can when the discs come in. Then wait some more.

you know, when i walked into the store the alarm didn't go off...the BB guy who stands at the door and greets you just put 2 stickers on the movies and told me to proceed to the return/exchange line...the girl i talked to on the phone was there at the counter so she remembered my call...i told her i wanted to exchange the movies and not the store credit...she said go on and grab the 2 you want and come back here to the line...so i did...she did take my drivers license # so she can input the new info on the receipt, de-magnetized the movies and i was on my way out the door...no problems...:D

Well it has been 5 weeks since I have submitted my free offer and it didn't show up on the website so I called them. They don't have any record of the items that I sent them so they told me to resubmit it. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait another 4-5 weeks and they will probably tell me they still don't have it.

same thing happened to me....originally submitted mid July...and then finally got my movies like 10 days ago.

Did you have to resubmit or how long did it take to show in their system?

I submitted some stuff in early october. I would call and find out if they had gotten it.. first they said that they got it and then later they would say that they never got it.. finally they gave me a fax number to I could do that.. resubmit my stuff that way.

I had to resubmit after 4-5 weeks also..and it took a week or 2 after that for it to show online as processed, and then what seems forever to get it updated to shipped in mid november.

In case it helps, it took 5-6 weeks for my order to show up on the official website, which listed my selections (as entered in their system, I guess).

My blurays arrived about 9 weeks after I mailed the form (mailed around Sept. 18). They seem to ship from Minnesota and it took 3-4 days for my order to arrive, once their site said shipped.

Yes, it's frustrating, but it just takes a while. 8-10 weeks is slow, but not terrible.

Well I'm in the same boat as some. I called them to check to see if and when I'd get my 5 movies and they told me that they never got it. They did however no that I got 10 movies from my a-35 and a-20 :). I told them that I got my 3 movies offer that Samsung gave me too. He told me to call 1800-723-4763 for the resubmit and that all I needed was a copy of my receipt . No upc was needed he told me so now its back to the waiting game joy :rolleyes:

I sent my rebate in at the mid to end of October. My status never showed up on the BVHE website but the disc's just came in today. Took about 6 weeks.

I think they always show the discs you ordered, not what you're actually getting. The site still shows that they shipped me "Babel", when what I really got was "Deja Vu".

Yes, all they said was as long as i didn't open it, it would be fine...and they offered exchange or store credit...i verified this by calling another BB and they told me the exact same thing...

Don't. I think it took mine at least a month, and possibly more, to show up on the website.

I have been waiting since the middle of October for my disks and they just arrived today! It is kind of weird though because I called a week and a half ago and they didn't even have any record of my order in their system and I haven't been able to check it via the web either. I resubmitted a week and a half ago too so here's to getting another set!

I sent my mailaway about a month ago and there is still no record of it showing up. Does it usually take a while for that?

I got mine last week after 5-6 weeks. Pretty good compared to many. I wasn't in the system about a week or two before delivery, so maybe some people are processed w/o spending much, if any, time in the system.

They never asked where you bought them from? Or why there was no Best Buy sticker on the packaging? Or do they not care as long as its still wrapped?

What do you mean by a "fixed" copy? I got mine as one of the 5 free movies and its wrapped with an outside box, just like at the store.

I took mine to Best Buy today for exchanges. The security alarm went off, but they didnt flinch. They tgaged them withthe return stickers and I took them to the customer service counter. The girl really wanted to look for the original reciept after I told her they were gifts. I gave my moms name and cell phone number so of course they couldnt find it.

She said she would allow me to exchange them. So I went and grabbed 4 and went back to the counter. Unfortunatley, Harts War (one of the 5 free) would not register in their system. An associate looked at it and said the UPC looked like it came from Target. I said no big deal. He said even without the "best buy" stickler on the wrapping they would give me a gift card or credit on the other 3.

Unfortunatley for me, the movies I picked out were more than the movies I was exchanging. So it did cost me a little cash, but it was worth it for me.

I'm not sure they have the fixed copy ready to go just yet. Better off to select another movie and just pick this one up B&M 3-4 months down the road when you know the discs have the fixed version.

Yes, very lucky. I did not get the PS3 until first week of November, and mailed in the receipt and UPC the week before Thanksgiving!

After reading how long some people waited for their movies, I was pleasantly suprised when I arrived at home to see a package at my front door. All 5 movies I picked were in the package. I sent in the MIR the week following Thanksgiving. Pretty fast turn around if you ask me. I picked:

Full Metal Jacket

I have a feeling those with slower turnaround times than others may possibly have 2 (or more) movies out of stock at the time their order is pulled. I would think they might not hesitate to send out 1 random replacement but possibly not 2 (of 5)

But that is a totally lame of them for the rest of us. I sent my coupon in for my PS3 purchase over a month before the 40 gig unit was even on the market. I even sent it tracked so I confirmed when they received it and who signed for it... And I check on their tracking site weekly. I only just THIS week showed up on their tracker and still have another "4 to 10 weeks" to see them shipped and up to another month after that to receive them.

Clearly they are not even remotely attempting to process these in any kind of order in which they are received... They must just stack up on some interns desk and get fulfilled from the top of the stack. Last in, first out...

From reading all these posts, it seems like they are consistently fulfilling those people who were eligible for the Fall Promotion now but still sitting on those of us who didn't get fulfilled for the Summer promotion.

That's just lame.

Kind of sours me on the whole Blue-Ray product, that they would treat their customers with such disregard. Kind of like the way Sony introduced the brand new 80 gig player (amid a re-pricing of the product line) then still dropped the price 7 weeks later, setting a new world record for a major consumer electronics product...

I would like to know the same thing. If they came out and said for sure that would get it on a certain date I would be happy even if the date was 3 months from now but sending in an order and them not even saying they have received it is just ridiculous

I sent mine in about 6 weeks ago, and I received my movies today. My name never appeared on the website.

I spoke to the fulfillment center today and they were pretty lame.

They tried to claim that they didn't receive my rebate form until 11/8. I said I had a UPS confirmation and signature that proved they received it several weeks before then, besides which I sent it guaranteed overnight and they had to see a postmark by 10/31 so how could they have declared me as eligible if they didn't receive it until 11/8? They just said, "we'll our computer says 11/8, so that's when it was."

Then I said, we'll, fine, let’s say you got it 11/8. There are people who hadn't even bought their players then who have already received their discs from the Fall promotion. She said, "Due to overwhelming demand, we are processing these as fast as we can." I said that didn't actually answer the question -- that would explain why it takes a long time but not why it would be out of order, and she repeated the same thing word for word again like some automated call drone. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she was one. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said that was "impossible" because she was the "highest authority" (I thought god had that title, but whatever).

Then I said, I had heard some people were getting titles other than what they asked for and after all these delays and out of order fulfillment, that would be insult to injury and I wanted to give titles I would be willing to switch to, or even accept the fall titles if that helped. She refused and said I would get whatever they decided to send me, period.

She then said they had 10 weeks from the 11/8 date they conveniently decided to log it into their system, and up to another month for shipping after that. So I can probably expect the titles for my system purchased in late August, with a rebate sent in mid-October to be fulfilled in late February, with a bunch of crap titles I didn’t ask for (or titles I already have).

This is not the # Buena Vista promotes on their tracking site, but that # is a waste of time because when you call it during their West Coast business hours you eventually are told you have to call this other # I gave you above because the fulfillment is outsourced to this company...

The Disney customer service people were way better but useless in the end since they don't actually handle it.
