I hate to base anything on a source like this, but Stardust would be a must own for me.

Stardust should have done much better at the box office. I am glad it is coming to HD DVD.

Hmm, I haven't seen Stardust, but I just saw that it got a lot of great reviews on RT. Would it be worth a blind buy?

Wouldnt surprise me if this turns out to be true since they announced A Mighty Heart which only made $9 million at the box office (US).

I will definitely be getting Stardust. Not the other two, but from what I've heard Stardust is a safe blind buy.

No stardust for me.... I found the movie to be kind of painstaking, Michelle pfeiffer was good in it though as was DeNiro. Throughout the whole movie I was wondering what age group they were trying to appeal to (I'm 21).

On the other hand I thoroughly enjoyed The Invasion. And will most likely pick it up.

Didn't see hot rod.

I'll buy Invasion and rent the other two.

Doing the exact opposite - I'll buy Hot Rod and Stardust but probably rent The Invasion...I'll give it a second chance, because I really didn't enjoy it that much.

Agreed. It's a fairy tale, so you'd think it was being marketed toward kids, but it also has way too many adult oriented scenarios that would be inappropriate for them.

That said, my girlfriend loved the movie, and the only thing that saved it for me was Robert De Niro. His role was its saving grace. Most likely will be picking up a copy when it comes out.

Stardust done and done. Hot Rod and invasion are rentals. I saw a boat load of movies this year in the theater and Stardust was one of my absolute favorites.!

This was an adult fairy tale, just as Princess Bride was intended for a more adult audience. Just because it's a fairy tale doesn't mean it's for kids. Try reading the Brothers Grimm or Charles Perrault in their original versions. They've been watered down for the kiddies over the years. In Perrault's original Cinderella, the stepsisters get their eyes gouged out by birds at the end of the tale.

Stardust was one of my favorite movies of the year. I'll definitely be picking it up on HD DVD.

I read the book after I saw the movie because I liked it so much (Stardust). The book is actually not as a good. They added a lot of stuff for the movie. Not that this is terribly relevant to the thread.

I'm assuming this is Invasion the movie, not Invasion the TV series?

Shame if so.

Hot Rod was the very worst movie I have ever seen. I was like one long, bad episode of SNL. I would recomend rental, that way you save $30 on this turd.

Also being a manager at BB, I've found our system to be a very poor preview of what's coming. While all of this could be true, I wouldn't count on it

Yes, it's the appalling remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A complete disgrace of a movie. Botox Betty (aka Nicole Kidman) does a pretty good impression of a pod person, though.

It's odd that they gave her the role of being one of the only Human's left, when she is physically incapable of showing emotion because of all the botox isn't it? hehehe.

Stardust was one of my favorite movies of the summer (I broke down and saw it twice -- something I rarely do), so I hope this release date turns out to be right!
