I want to move ahead and upgrade my actual setup (projector and screen)for my family/almost HT. Projector's distance from the screen is 19" and want to project the image in a 122" 2.35:1 screen. We use our projector just at night with lights off. Under this circumstances I understand that some limitations apply so ... what could you recomends me in terms of projectors and electric screens?.
As reference, now I have a Sim2 Domino 30H and a Da-lite 16:9 electric screen (that are for sale).
Thanks in advance

Well you are leaving a wide open field for recommendations. Do you have any idea what you are looking to improve with the new setup? Any budget? If you can give us a bit more to go on we can help you a bit easier.

Jason,
Domino 30H worths arround 1/5 - 1/6 of its original price (I have it for 3 years now). This hobby goes VERY fast so we're going to need to upgrade arround 2-3 years. My budget ? arround 5-6K street price for the projector alone. Dont need any processing (for streching) inside becuase I have an Anthem AVM-50 processor that will handle all that work. More info: the projector is hanging from the ceiling and is positioned 15" over the top of the screen, so the use of keystroke is a must.We use to turn on the projector at night with lights off so my family room is almost "totally dark" but a good option could be to have a projector/screen that can handle some indirect light (My SIM2 can't do that). Im seriously considered to keep my actual screen (16:9 102") and install the new one (2.35:1) over it,; this way I can have the best of both worlds. My idea is not to use lens, just zoom.
Thanks in advance

Sure thing. My general recommendation is to stick with DLP. Why? Usually when one has a specific technology for a period of time I find they get used to it and changing can often not be advisable (not always the case, but it is common).

You don't need a light cannon for that screen setup, but the IN82 might be work considering. It is under your budget, 1080p and bright to say the least. Just one option.

Thanks Jason. Could you consider the IN82 a projector that can cover all my requirements about distance (not only "from" screen but "avobe" also) ?
Thanks

Jason, do you have comments about the 2:35 to 1 screen that you could recomends me knowing my set up?

Would the 2.35:1 screen also be 15" below the projector?

A more realistically aproach will be between 0 and 7" .
