Did anyone notice the software update to there utv this past week?
The only difference I have noticed is the restart icon showing above resume, and when searching, the screen write is slightly different. Anyone else notice other changes?

-OoSoftware update for the UTV, are you sure? What version does your unit say it is? The last upgrade was in 2003 ver. 3.7, I can't believe after 4 years there would be an upgrade. :rolleyes: If your software says something other than 3.7 I would use the search to see if anything comes up. Also I did notice in this post (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=899057) there was talk of a possible upgrade.

kazakI was being highly sarcastic, if Ooshka had looked at a few threads down there are two posts specifically stating 3.8 and others referring to upgrade. So to ask if anybody noticed the upgrade without looking at threads, well....
I have already reinserted my custom screens and layout form 3.7, it ended up being only three files of the six that were changed so it was less work than I expected.

I might have a problem with my browser i only see about 4 threads active in the entire ultimate tv board.... I specifically came to the board looking for information on the upgrade not seeing any i thought i would start a discussion on it. If you feel it in the best interests of the board to slam me for that I certainly don't have a compelling need to take part.

That is Odd.

My version of Firefox is showing 15 "normal" threads and 2 "sticky".

"Cancelling a UltimateTV - Harden "08-29-07 11:47 PM by Ulfius" is the last one listed at this moment.

"Unit said it was doing an upgrade!!!" should have been one of your 4 threads unless you are including the "stickys"... then no.

Hopefully your browser problem is easily fixed... Those older threads are interesting reads.

For those just joining us... UTV OS 3.8 is reality and if you aren't seeing it discussed on the forum... Then try and do some extra searches to try and expand the thread listing. Something might be wrong with "recent" visitors seeing the last few weeks of threads.

There is an option in the user control panel to set the "Default Thread Age Cut Off". This sets the limit for which threads are displayed. Maybe your setting is set too tight. Click on the UserCP tab at the top of the forum to check the setting.

(And I thought RandCfilm's comments were funny ... as he intended. Not a "slam".)

(And I thought RandCfilm's comments were funny ... as he intended. Not a "slam".)Also at the bottom of the forum is "Display Options" where you can show posts "from the" xxx days or months, which temporally overrides your "default thread" setting.

Ooshka - If you are only seeing 4 threads your default is set to 'show posts from the last day'. You might want to change it to something longer. I was just giving you Simpson's "Dooohh" factor about searching for posts.
