Even lossless audio is included...

That's the very first time the US (officially) get to see the Unrated cut.

Is thing going to use seamless branching? On the back it says both rated and unrated versions are on the disc.

Michael,

given the 159min runtime it has to be seamless branching - no way Warner can include two seperate encodings on one single HD30 (or BD50 for that matter) -> even with their frequent/notorious 12-15MBit/s avg. bitrates :p

Oh wow I didn't realize this movie was that long.

what's the point of having two version of the same movie ? and secondly... what's seamless branching ?

Because that way one can have both the theatrical version and the extended cut available (or even more versions), while minimizing the space required. The viewer may have specific reasons to choose one over the other at any given viewing (mood, time available?). Seamless branching allows sharing of footage common to both films with branches as required to unique footage. Because the branching is seamless, the transition points are neither visible nor audible to the viewer.

They CGIed people in front of the hardcore orgy scenes.

Wow, thank GOD this one has lossless audio. If ANY MOVIE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD NEEDED IT, it's got to be Eyes Wide Shut! ;)

At least we don't have to listen to the elitists whine about "not buying it" due to it only having horrible, horrible, ear-piercingly bad Dolby Digital Plus.
{much sarcasm intended, and any elitist who gets mad about it, much offense also intended}

Did you know that there are still people out there who will actively argue that those people are *REAL*. No shi...er, crap. Had a guy sit there for 20 minutes trying to convince me they were real..

I can't think of any reason why Jocelyn Pook's wonderful score shouldn't be represented in the best audio format possible. It was a highlight of the film and even won some awards at the time.

I rather have a fantastic score like the one in Eyes Wide Shut in lossless ("as good as it gets", if YOU can appreciate the difference doesn't matter...), unaltered glory than a collection of 2.5 hours of "things blowing up" (aka your typical mindless action/popcorn Hollywood summer blockbuster). Just MHO.

Quality music scores is where lossless truly shines.

Didn't this also have a lame fool-screen aspect ratio as well?

I have to say this was the WORST and last of the great Kubrick. This movie was a snoozer....

I saw it when it had it's theatrical release - but don't remember hardly anything about it...

Kubrick choose to shoot in 1:33 & 1:66. I think only 2001 was in 2:35.

And Kubrick ain't no fool sonny.

dude, it's not "fool" screen if it's filmed that way, thousands of classics from 30's to 60's are 1.37:1

if i'm not mistaken, EWS was meant to be shown 1.85:1 in theaters

I'm not going to pretend to be smart enough to have liked this movie. For me, it was like watching paint dry. Nicole Kidman and all.
