Looking to pick up a 40"-42" LCD around christmas time. I'm new to the LCD world and wondering what you would expect to happen to prices around christmas time? Did they drop last year at that time?

Also, some recommendations would be helpful. I'll have Dish network and i've got a PS3 anxiously waiting for an LCD. This will be the main TV for everything from gaming, blu-rays on the PS3 and everyday watching of TV. Viewing distance will be between 6' and 10'. Budget of $1200 will be in place, slightly more for a much better TV though is not out of the question.

Any help or insight will be helpful.

Determine the TV you want....in a generous price range....then get best price on it. The super sales for Black Friday and after Thanksgiving often leave people in longs lines and coming out empty handed.

The soon to be discontinued 4061F from samsung is a very nice set...and can be had for your price range currently.....if you want for Holidays good chance they don't have them and are instead discounting the current models.

Samsung and Sony are your best odds.

If you were going to wait....I would get the soon to be released 4069F....which should after the first month be able to be had for about 1650 at EOY
