Checkout Bic Acoustech H-100. You can get one around $200 from ebay and i HIGHLY recommend it.

Save your money until around $200 or one of ED Subs which are modestly priced. Anything less and your just chasing your tail.

I'll sell you my Cadence XSUB for $150. It's perfect, and after upgrading to an SVS Plus/2, I have little use for it. Great little 12" ported sub that weighs over 50lbs with too much amp. Great controls on the amp for tweaking as well. I bought it after hearing the H100. I felt it had a harder "punch" and was better for movies as well. They are very similar, but after taking both apart, the XSUB seemed to be made a bit more robust.

i'm pretty sure the dayton would beat out that sony. Not sure about the cadence x-sub.
If i were you, i'd save my money though.

Honestly whatever sub you get won't be worth it.. Just save your money to double your budget atleast...

My first sub was a SVS PB10 NSD for $429. It's phenomenal. I'd save up for that if I were you. It's better than some subs twice its price.

agreed. You will need at least $250-$300 to get a decent sub for HT.

Don't listen to these people. All of your "needs" are relative here ... ignore the hype surrounding these uber-subs. Although they are really good ... they aren't free.

If your budget is $100-150, I see no reason for tripling or quadrupling to please the masses here. If you've heard the Balboa sub and enjoyed it .. go for it.

What about doubling it? He said he wants a sub for bass not somthing that just bottoms out with no bass.. I had a cheap sub by Infinity and wished I saved my money..
