is it just me, or does it feel like the entire internet is holding its breath tonight? i keep going around and looking for hype-threads about halo, but it all feels very quiet, almost like nothing big is coming; i think we've talked about it, and postulated about it for so long that everything has been said, and now we are just holding our breath waiting for the real thing, because i don't think it's that people just don't care ;) perhaps we don't want to jinx it....

I just want to know where I can get an early copy.

I am going to enjoy the launch night party. The mall I am getting my copy from has partnered with Ruby Tuesdays so it sounds like it is going to be a decent time. I cant wait. One more full day :).

lol...i kinda feel this same way. There is sorta this pervasive anxiety in the air, it's thick and everyone knows it's there, but it goes understated yet understood--all that could be said has been said, all the videos have been watched, the hype couldn't get any bigger, we couldn't want it any more, and we no long have to moan about the wait because it's right around the corner. :) exciting

Christmas is just a day like any other day (well for the less religous) but people still feel like this. A test is just another day at school. A trip to Kings Island is just another day out. The superbowl is just a football game.

People get excited about things they like. The anticipation is usually more exciting then the actual event but its all part of the fun.

My friend works at Gamestop and when I stopped there today, the whole back room was jammed with boxes full of Halo 3 games. So close and yet soooo far. :( Still excited though !!!

I refuse to fall for the Microsoft induced feeding frenzy, though I use MS products I have no endearing love for Bill Gates, so I am going to wait until I can casually reach for the game off the shelf, no waiting in lines at midnite, no bidding wars from shady sellers on Ebay and I could care less about having to play it anytime soon. On my terms and not MS.

yep, definitely a calm before the storm. i haven't even turned my 360 on in 3 days because anything I play just feels like I am going through the paces. lol. my mind is set for halo3 and nothing not even the COD4 beta seems fun right now.

I love the Halo games, but am not a pre-order or stand in line kinda guy - my wife is picking it up for me Tuesday.

yeah really, I'm going to just swing up tomorrow and grab it. If it's there, it is, if it's not, no big deal. Halo2 was a disappointment, and it seems the 8-10hr campaign for halo3 is going to be as well.

I will personally buy it preowned whenever it becomes available, no excitement over here. I mean really, it's a great game, but in the end it's just a game, except for people with no priorities in their life, assuming they have a life at all ;)

it's pretty anti climatic for me. I could go to a release party but would just go straight to bad after getting home since I have work. SO I'll just be getting it on my way home afterwork tuesday.

I still have games from last christmas I have yet to fully complete. No Halo 3 for me....Sorry but the only thing that game has offered new was a great aiming system in shooters...Granted its still the best but the multiplayer and story is sub-par.

The online play is good until every 16 year old gets on and talk trash for no reason and lags around :). I cant wait, tonight is going to be GREAT.

My mom works for Microsoft and brought home a copy of Halo 3 last night.

It has the been their done that feel and the fast paced bunny hopping is meh.

I agree with all the bunny hopping being a bit ridiculous but being able to load your squad in a vehicle, head over to the other base, crushing people all the way, never knowing when a rocket is going to end your fun is worth the price of admission alone IMO. I usually play with friends, the general public with the screaming children is another story.

The customization that The Forge offers is likely to keep multiplayer part of the game fun and fresh for a long time. Some of the videos over at TeamXbox look great. I'm looking forward to playing a little "baseball"

The online play is starting to slow down and lag a little, there are about 6000 people online, as opposed to the 800 when I first started playing. And in the past 4 hours I've been called a f****t about 8 times, corpse humped about 12, and found singing 13 year olds 3 times. Ah, some things never change. :(

Nope. The sword is still there. There's supposed to be a cool feature where if 2 people attack each other with the sword at the same time you clash swords, get stunned and try again. Interesting.
