Halo 3 service records are up finally. Here a few shots i took from some vids. Looks as if you can't download the vids to your computer. You can go to someones stat page and download the vid to your xbox and watch. But of course you have to have halo 3 to watch it.

I was goofing with the a features last night and couldn't figure out how to access my saved screenshots and clips. They are supposed to go to Bungie.net right? When I logged on over there I had nothing. Of course it was 2am, so I wasn't spending a lot of time figuring it out. Anyone know different?

Did you upload them to Bungie? They don't just show up after you take them, you have to go to the file sharing screen and upload your pics/videos.

That's a custom game of team slayer. We were just messing around trying to learn the maps. Although I did play in matchmaking while playing Big Team Battle, it was used for a game of Capture the Flag.
To put the image in the post just click the insert image button at the top of the message box (it's the one under the undo back arrow) and paste the link in the pop up box.

Sandtrap is amazing, and the elephant vehicles are hilarious!

I remember all the complaints by certain gaming sites and gamers early this year when more and more screens of Halo 3 were coming out, saying the graphics were "bland," and average, nothing truly next-gen.

ALL of those people have shut up now, it seems. :D

I had a similar situation occur on the modified zanzibar....These two guys respawned in a line as soon as I saw it happen i took the shot....they both went flying with their crap droping all over....I took a sweet clip of that as well. I'm not sure how to post a link to the download though...

I downloaded someone's clip last night that was similar to yours. It's called bank shot and it's highlighted on the Bungie website. Basically, this guys bullet goes through the first targets grape, bounces off an adjacent wall and right into his buddies head. It's a must see.

Oh yes, that is awesome. I played with that for a few minutes last night. Pretty amazing power those sniper bullets have.

Got my copy yesterday and was playing it. What I see on my TV looks alot different from what has been posted in this thread. I see alot of jaggies when I'm playing in solo campaign mode. I don't have the greatest TV so maybe that is the case but there is a very big difference from what I see and what you guys are posting. I'm playing on a syntax olevia 37" 1366X768 HDTV through component. I've set the output on my 360 at 1080i and 720p and get about the same results. Is everyone who is posting pics playing on a 1080p sets? Or do these screens look better than what you guys are seeing?

By the way, loving the game despite the jaggies.

I played the unranked "big group" or whatever it's called and every 2nd or 3rd map was Sandtrap. Thus far it's my favorite map. The wraith is key.

This is the reason why I love Halo over GOW. You CAN'T do that in Gears. Its the reason why Gears felt so linear and restrictive, to me.

It's true that it's falsely advertised as running at 720p but for the sake of smooth 60 fps this game looks good. I will say that I do see quite a bit of jaggies but who really sees them when they are shooting up the flood and covenant or fellow spartan on MP?

By the way, these shots are incredible and yes, these shots have been cleaned up just a bit from what the game actually looks like but non the less, this is a freakin sweet looking game and the game play is top notch. Nothing revolutionary about it but I have a feeling that if Gears of War 2 ever does come out, I would hope that Bungie would have licensed the video technology as well as their compression schemes to other developers as to make this a standard in videogames?

How do you rewind a film? I'm able to do it with multiplayer films by using the pop-up menu accessed with the X button (not nearly as useful as the right trigger fast forward); but that button is inactive with campaign videos. What am I overlooking? There's got to be a rewind function.

No rewind in campaign due to technical difficulties stated by bungie. Also, no "record a clip" feature in campaign.

That armor is sick. When I beat the campaign for the first time, im going back thru it just to find the skulls.

I posted this elsewhere, before I knew this thread existed. Anyway, here it is again.

Just thought I should share this moment with y'all. So this banshee was chasing me about and strafing me to bits. He did a "Split-S" and came back at me for one final (and decisive) pass. I spun around as he zoomed towards me, guns blazing. I let lose a laser charge, and it went right thru his core...not a moment too soon. That was enough to tear him apart.

I tried my hand at some.. Its kind of a 3 part "story" that Ill post in the afternoon...

This photo and movie editor thing is turning out to be alot cooler than I ever would have thought...

I dabbled in the movie editor last night and had a blast. I was in The Pit, I grabbed the rockets and rounded the corner, fired one towards a guy on a turret and missed, but it scared him off the turret. I fired another as I was leaping off the edge and out of site, the guy who didnt even see it, ends up backing up right into where I fired the rocket to a direct hit. I set the video up to show my guy leaping off the edge and disappearing, and you see the rocket coming and see the enemy back right into it.

I love these editors.

Best I've figured out is using the D-pad left (only works if the the on-screen controls are off) which jumps you back ten seconds and then moving foward to what you're looking for. Don't think there is an option for slow backward.

This is precisely why they made the video replay. Amazing!!!! And hilarious!!

someone else pointed this out to me (kotaku.com perhaps?) but they pointed out the genius of the diorama ads/commercials and how it really ties into the Theater feature of Halo 3. Essentially the theater is like looking in a digital moving diorama. Genius I tell ya! Personally, this is what makes the game next gen. It's like your own personal SportsCenter!

The other thing to note is they must be getting some good compression with those video since they do not take up much space memory wise after they are saved.

They aren't video. They are copies of the in-game data. The playback engine renders them back in real time. That's what allows you to change camera perspective. You can't do that with static video.

That grenade throw was incredible. I love how the lifts now have the grenades float back up. You can float a grenade up with the grav lift you throw down too. Handy at times.

When you all get a chance, download Bungie's favorite videos onto your 360. It contains the actual video where that grenade throw happens, as well as an amazing Laser overkill. The laser overkill is ridiculous, two Mongoose with two guys each, that cross paths right when the laser goes off, and it kills everyone. Ridiculous!!! Seeing some of these crazy moments is what the video portion of the game is all about.

Also how do you get High Res screens? I took the one above while watching a film in the Theater section and used the screenshot capture option to get the pic. I then saved and uploaded it but when I goto view it on bungie.net it is small and looks low res.

Here's what I did to my brother on Narrows. I hit the man cannon and was waiting for him, he had a shotgun so he thought he was gonna blast me out of the air.....he was wrong. :D

You can only view your films from within Halo3, as the saved film isn't really video, but game data.

It is amazing the different kinds of lighting & texture changes you can get by manipulating the camera some. This is from a Social Slayer/Rockets match, looks like he's posing but in fact he is flying through the air.

Yep, my favorite thing about this game is the replay feature, I wish I had this kind of camera control on a video shoot!

That's a good goal, 2-3 every few nights. The only thing that sucks about Theater is why is it so hard to fast forward the game since it has already been played? Sheesh! The processing power should be there with the 360 (or maybe it's not?)

this is how i do it:

1. take pic in halo
2. go to Bungie.net and download full size image to my pc (at this point i rename it to something recongnizable)
3. i then log into Photobucket.com (free account and pretty easy)
4. then upload pics from my pc to photobucket
5. photobucket provides the links to simply copy and paste http location

just let me know if you need more help

i use Photobucket since I don't think bungie will alllow their bandwidth to be sucked up etc.

You can find 8 people in Tehachapi to play Halo with? Man, last time I was there the population was like < 5000:) and the only broadband available was at the wind farm.

Tronn, you've got a heckuvan eye for good pictures. Excellent photos. I think if half of those pictures were the official bungie pictures before the games release we never would have had debates about the graphics.

I still find myself momentarily pausing to look at the amazingly subtle lighting that happens even in MP.

I don't think that the game was supposed to be a game that pushes the limits of the system rather a very polished version of the old stuff. It's good and I still play this and Guitar Hero 3 while I try to find deals for Orange Box, COD4, Assasin's Creed, Mass Effect etc.

Hey Mark_Likes_Games, you're absolutely right, there's not a lot of things that beats playing on a big screen with big sound.

thanks bout the pictures Davio. that last one i snapped this morning and got in late to work!! :eek: But that one (besides being white-washed) is the closest I've gotten to making Chief look like when that SuperBowl Halo Ad came out. At least he looks like when he runs out of the bubble shield, with a slight touch of bluriness. Took awhile to get that shot though as there is no rewind when watching footage from Campaign mode (note to Bungie). So it was actually just timing luck. Unfortunatly it was taken when the Scorpion tank I was driving got stuck with too many plasma grenades (skulls on) got on it.

this emblem I found online, re-sized it, re-painted it, and now I'm thinking of getting someone to make me a big patch to put on my paintball EQ. Also thinking about getting a new paintball jersey with my Gamertag on it. :D

Just looked through all the pics posted. There are two aspects of Halo 3 Campaign that has not been shown on here that much.

1. The Architecture of buildings. Including destroyed buildings.
2. The overall environments. ie: Outdoor shots, city shots,

I've put up one shot of a hallway, mainly cause its simple geometric design shows how organized the Forerunners' architects liked to design. Which is in deep contrast to the utter chaos and dis-mantling that the Flood brought upon them.

Maybe we can set up some challenges? Lets say like one week we all take shots of Brutes, the next week we all take shots of Warthogs, and so on and so forth. There are no achievement points involved, but a nice way to highlight aspects of the game which are not that apparent to everyone.

haven't had the chance to play Halo after renting COD4, it is a great game! I love the animation when the guys are running. Those subtle movements really makes for an intense
FPS. Just like Halo, it's nothing revolutionary, nothing that we haven't seen before but by golly gee, the game looks AMAZING.

Too bad you can't take screen shots of the movies. That would have been a great feature...

While watching the movie, about half-way through when I'm shooting at the unmanned mongoose, I'm telling my teammates: "Move that damn mongoose, it's right in the way!!"

I need to watch the vid again and change the camera so I can see who did move it... ;-)

by the time I got splatter #10, I was laughing so hard I never saw the grenade that did me in.

Yay!!! More Pics! I took a few of a sequence that I was particularly proud of last night.

A bit of a background, we were blue team with our initial spawn under the sword and the red team spawns right by the orange lift. It's pretty much a race to the sword and who can camp by whichever lift (left, right and orange)

So with my teammates yelling "DON'T GO THAT WAY, JUST TAKE THIS UP TO THE SWORD..."I went ahead and engaged Red team killing their point man in the process...

The second guy didn't know that the 1st guy died so he immediately goes for the missile pod launcher located in the lower level but it was too late by the time he was able to turn around and try to aim before shooting I had already plugged him up...(I had softened him up with a grenade prior to this shot)

The third guy was also in a precarious situation as I saw him duck for cover with his shields down (I am learning how to read shields but I still have no idea). I just went ahead and unloaded a full clip on him and beat him down as I was running out of bullets...

The fourth guy was just playing around by the lift trying to get the power drain up to the 2nd floor all at the same time as I was taking out his teammate. As soon as he had realized that he was the last guy standing, he turned around for a valiant yet futile effort as I take him out (but I didn't get the extermination medal, I knew I didn't get overkill since it took about 6 seconds rather than 4 seconds)
