Edited this thread to start up a tourney first then a league. Above are those that responded to my inquiry about being committed to playing at least one game every two days. Tourney will be all star, 7 min., best of 3, interval every 2 days and trading & draft off. We will be using Bizcanos sliders from OS.

If you can committ to that and want to get in add me as a friend by 10/14 as we will start play Mon. 10/15. We have six need two more...

Well, got this last night and all I can say is WOW! Finally a basketball game that won't let you just have a dunk fest. + it rewards you for making the extra pass. The animations are the star of this game, they have to be seen to be believed. I played 4 games on pro before I won a game, I was a little frustrated at first, but once I got into the new pacing, it was bball heaven. The AI is amazing. If you try to double team the wrong player at the wrong time, he will dish it to the open man for the finish.

The offball controls are ridiculous; you can select which player to set the pick, post up, clear out, etc; it adds another dimension of play to the game. I'm still trying to figure out the crossovers and dribble moves, although sometimes the player seems to go a little out of control. The post up moves are as lovely as ever, and regardless of what anyone says, the graphics in this game are beautiful (except for the faces). It really feels like a whole new game this year. 2K is the king once again for me.


P.S. The slam dunk contest seems a little too complicated, so I didn't even mess with it for long, besides, the 5 on 5 is too fun to mess with that right now anyway.

Same sentiments here...gameplay and animations is king. I just had a marathon with one of my friends and played for four hours at my house.

seems just like the demo to me. except you can call plays, and call for screens etc.

Actually it's about 5x better than the demo, as far as the whole package goes.

The game is really fantastic, but there are a few bugs they will have to patch. Some stuff with defensive assignments etc.

Well, my boy and I played Live last night & it pales in comparrison to 2K8. I played live when it was Bulls vs. Celtics on the Genesis and then Lakers vs. Bulls I believe. I could care less about loyalty just want to play the best bball game out.

Live 08's graphics are nice, however the most important thing for me is realism and gameplay. Live is way too herky jerky on the gameplay.

Still looking to a few more people to sign up for some games or possibly get a league started...

I just got the game tonight, and it's freakin' sick. I don't think it's slow, I think it's realistic. The graphics are flat out beautiful, and the online play is silky.

That said, if we're putting some sort of league together, make mine the Nuggets please.

I'll set up a tournament for us in a day or two. Glad to see there are others out there that are enjoying this games as much as I am.

I went to training camp for the Suns on Saturday and am really pumped for the upcoming season.

I was mainly being funny, I got my BUTT handed to me today by the Magic, though the way they destroyed me it didn't look like an inferior team.

Well, you are on my friend's list and I sent you that way cool voice mail. I'm free all week (I'm unemployed and free ALL the time, but I'm REALLY free since my GF is out of town this week), so let me know or whatnot. As I am definitely interested in the tourney which I will lose badly in.
