when hooking up a subwoofer, should I go high level through the sub to my mains or subwoofer pre out of the rec to LFE in on the sub?

Now for the really dumb question. which sounds better?

It will be mostly movies. Do I loose anything by not going LFE, like am I now a 7.0 system because I am just subing up the L and the R channel? Will my movies be missing something but my music sound great? Is there specific info on the .1 track in dolby or dts that will be gone forever?

What sub are you trying to integrate into your setup?

Go with the sub pre-out to the LFE input. Let the receiver do the bass management.

I was thinking either the SVS pb12+ or the new 13 Ultra

Go with the Ultra 13 and don't look back... What receiver are you using....?

I know the 13 is silly, its just an all around price thing that I am starting to run into. I said 10K and its getting dangerously close.

Thinking about going with the 805 or 875. The delay thing has me a little worried, cause I want to do gaming.

I could get 12 pb12+ for less then 1 13 ultra and for some reason, that seems really appealing.

So back to my initial question...
is there something in that .1 track that I need? And is one way of hooking it up better then another?
