Rented, The Searchers hd dvd from Netflix. Considering this movie was made in 1956, the picture quality was terrific. There is a scene in this movie where a group of riders on horseback are crossing a stream with snow covered banks and the picture had almost a 3d effect. This is one of the best looking hd dvds I have seen to date and is a great movie as well. Highly recommended.

I really dislike John Wayne movies and I have watched this about 10 times so far just because the picture is so good. I just mentally block out John Wayne and all is right with the world :)

Yes it is amazing. I read a while back about Warners 4k restorations and picked this one up just to see how good it could be. If this one looks that good just imagine what they did with Blade Runner

I love J.W. but I would rather seen others, i.e. Big Jake, Hondo, etc.
Its looks great on HD-DVD but not enough to buy IMO, and I love westerns. Wild Bunch comes soon!
