It is even cheaper if you buy online.

You're not gonna notice 1080p at 32" unless your nose is to the screen, please don't waste your money.

As for LCDs in your price range you're only options real options are gonna be Vizio, Olevia, or Westinghouse. I have a 37" Vizio and love it so Vizio gets my vote. You can pick up their 32" model (VX32L) for $600 at Sam's Club or Costco, and $650 at CC. I'd buy from Sam's or Costco if you can because of their awesome return policies. Do not buy the Wal-Mart version (VW32L), I don't care if you like the black finish or not the PQ just isn't as good.

You can find a brand name for around $700. It seems like Best Buy alternates those every other week. Couple of weeks ago there was a Philips advertised at $699, last week wasa Sharp (both 32"). 26" ones are in that price range anyway. I've seen a 32" Toshiba at HHGregg too.

Oh yeah, forgot one more thing... There's a new Panasonic at Best Buy - 32" with 120hz refresh rate, it looked noticably better than the rest. It's on sale this week for $999, and if you have one of those coupons for 10 or so % off it will be almost in the $800 range.

I think this is the only 32" 1080p TV I've seen:

I dont believe they make a 1080p in anything less than 37", and you can get one of those refurbed for like $600 bucks....or a 1366x768 of 40 or 42-47" for the same money, check Ecost, TigerDirect.

However the 'awesome picture quality' is subjective.

I got a 27" Olevia (227v) at CC for $359 a couple weeks ago. PQ is great for games and movies, but so-so for sd sources.....It does 1:1 map over VGA and HDMI, so I set mine to 1360*768 via VGA and set it to 1:1 and it looks really good.....

i bought a 32 inch Olevia 232v back around christmas. Great TV for gaming, bright punchy image and good out of box colors. Wouldn't be good enough for Movie watching in my opinon. Black level is not the greatest but no worse than any other LCD's in this price range, probably better than most actually. paid 600 back in january but probably can be found for less now.

I've seen the 360 on the Olevia 232V and personally I don't think you can beat it at that price. It looks pretty damn good.

If you were going to sit only 2-3 feet in front of a lcd (like pc usage), what size would you guys think for 360 gaming. I've been thinking a 32 is maybe too big, maybe a 26 would be better? I don't know, close call.

vizio olevia or westinghouse, and westinghouse gets my vote.

should be around 500-600 for 32"

i sit 3-5 feet from a 37" monitor, and it's a dream. 2-3 feet from a 32" would be fine, if you have the funds i wouldnt go smaller.

Yeah, I'm already set with 2 360s, a 61" and a 50". But eventually when 360s drop to $199, I'll setup a 3rd and 4th node with lcds for LAN gaming...

If you're in the market for a monitor, here's a 24" 1080p LCD

LG 246

Seriously about the best purchase I ever made. Absolutely no input lag at all, great color, extremely minimal ghosting (the lowest you'd find in a monitor).

360 on VGA through it is a dream.

though i have read great things about that monitor, i'm not sure why someone would choose that over a 32" at the same price UNLESS you need the high resolution for double duty as a PC monitor.
