Does anybody know if the Sony RDR HX750 / HX950 (same but larger hard drive) HDD recorders can be paused during recording? Any recorder should but I ask because...

1) there isn't mention of pausing during recording in the PDF manual
2) I've read reviews of another recent Sony HDD recorder that cannot pause during recording, much to the dismay of those who found out after buying it

Sony tech support, after a week, has yet to answer this simple question. But I really an interested in this HDD recorder because it has two features I need: hard drive defrag ability, and USB inputs to record directly from a card reader. thanks.
