Hey guys, this question isn't so much about placement but rather direction. I live in a small 2 bdrm apt. My living room s basically square 12' x 14'. The sub is a Dayton Audio Sub-12. Just purchased from PE $135, whatta deal for a first time ht user. :) Anyway, the sub is going in a rear corner against a wall, between two loveseats in an L-shape. Think of the Sub as being the corner end table for the seats..so to speak.

Anyway, the sub is a front firing sub. Should I point it towards the rear wall or point it towards the front or side etc? In car audio, I have two 12" in a custom box and the box fires towards the rear of the car to create a better db wave to fire forward into the car. I wandered if this practice carries over into homes as well.

THanks for the responses.

Best advice I can give is to experiment. Which way sounds best is very dependent on the actual room acoustics and your personal tastes. If you aim it at a wall, give it a couple of inches between the sub and the wall. You may even find that moving a few inches one way or another will yield subtle differences.
