Amazon seems to forget to list some titles here and there. I would hope that's the case with The Fly and that it'll be up shortly. I want this BD as well.

DVD PACIFIC has not shipped it yet. I have an order in with them.

I've seen no hints or clairvoyant indications of a delay. But it's still a few weeks to release, so there's a chance it might get delayed.

I think that its painfully obvious that Fox has no credability left. We assume that they won't release anything. They are going to have to have 2 press statements. One a few months out and then another 3 weeks out to confirm that they havent BS'ed, CES'ed, or Para-mount'ed us for the 4th or 5th time.

I just sent Amazon an email inquiring as to why this item isn't available for preorder on their site. Will hopefully hear back by tomorrow. They're usually pretty quick to respond to questions.

I sold back my copy of the Fly on DVD as soon at it was listed, which was now a long time ago because that was before the first time it got postponed.

I want this on HD so badly makes me think they are just teasing me by pushing it back.

Hope it gets released soon and I will pay the inflated Fox price for it to have it ASAP.

DVDPlanet & DVDEmpire still have it for pre-order. Last year, Amazon sometimes didn't get specific titles for pre-order, but it's kind of hard understanding why this is the case now.

They responded to my email and are requesting the ASIN for this disc. I have no idea what that is. Amazon is the only site that I've seen that lists this number/code. I sent them a link to DVDEmpire's page with The Fly BD instead and told them their competition's on the ball even though they aren't.

Well as I said I sent them a link to DVDEmpire's listing which as you mentioned, includes the UPC number. They are the one's in business, I can't be expected to do all of their work for them. That should be plenty IMO.

I have 3 Fox 10/9 releases preordered from DVD Pacific - The Fly, Robocop, and 28 Weeks Later. No word on any of them.

I was finally able to order From Hell on Amazon today. Although it says "usually ships in one to two weeks rather than "available on Oct 9".

Where is The Fly on amazon?

For what it is worth I asked Moretonbaydvd on his forums about the Oct 9 FOX catalog titles. The response I got was that all of the Oct 9 FOX catalog titles are expected to ship on schedule. :)

I ordered Fly from DVDEmpire this week. A few bucks more than normal Amazon prices, but at least they are taking pre-orders for it. Kind of weird that Amazon didn't get this one. Maybe they have some allottment restrictions or maybe their purchasing dept just screwed the pooch on these 2 titles.

Same here. I placed the order yesterday and it flipped to Shipping Soon almost immediately.

Damn. That seriously sucks. Tuesday was going to be Fox sweet with Robocop, From Hell and the Fly. At least Rpbpcop and From Hell will finally ship; I've had From Hell on pre-order with Amazon, since Fox originally the title months ago.

Best Buy, DVDEmpire, DVDPlanet, Movies Unlimited, CDUniverse (VideoUniverse), Bestprices, all still have for pre-order with release date of 10-9. As of this evening, the Fox website foxbd.com shows Fly as 10-9-07 "2 days left". Strange that Amazon could not order it...unless Fox had a limited production run and all available copies were sold to other retailers. Or Fox will pull a Fox and pull it at the 11th hour...not like they've not done this b4, right?

Well, I will be checking out local b&m retailers to see if I can score this one. I just have a sneaking suspicion it was delayed without an announcement. It just doesn't make sense that Amazon didn't receive any copies and they only just recently posted "From Hell" with street date and pre-order status. It might even quietly appear in stores sometime past the street date.

It has not been delayed at all as my copy shipped today from DVD Empire. It does suck that Amazon is not carrying this title, but lets be real, Amazon is the last place one should be looking as an indicator if a title has been delayed. Christ, they sent me the same e-mail alerting me that M & C will be shipping 10/9 after Fox confirmed the delay.

Glad to finally squash the rumor that it was once again delayed.

I'm glad it's not delayed but damn, DVDEmpire wants over $5 more than Amazon would charge me with the HDDISC10 promo. I guess I'll keep an eye on Ebay since Amazon is clueless on this one.

I buy all my blu-ray movies at a locally owned shop and they have no copies of the Fly even on order - the SKU isn't even in their system.

They're definitely getting the other Fox releases tomorrow (though I forgot to ask about From Hell).

Fox must have some @@cked up distribution channels. Fly is even available to order directly from the online Fox store.

dvdpacific is located on the east coast. maybe they just got their shipments faster. who knows. it is weird that most stores especially in the midwest haven't seen most of the new titles yet.

It may depend on where each distributor gets their stock from.

For example: DVD Pacific may get their stock from one of the factories in Asia, while Best Buy may be sourced from Terre Haute, who have had issues.

Bingo! I think there is a high possibility you are right. There aren't many other logical explanations. Also, Fly being an MGM title distributed by Fox, may be have been subject to some funky ordering requirements. Maybe Amazon will be able to order it in the near future.

All I know is mine is on the way :D
