ive been reading a lot about how to best deal with sound leaking into adjacent rooms from theaters lately and have been wondering this...would Owens Corning 703 work better as a sound dampener in place of some standard R13 insulation?
i am planing on building a theater room in the near future when i move so its not for my current theater room...so what do ya'll think?
It might help a little bit. But if you really want isolation, your money would be better spent on other things that will make more difference. Which products are appropriate would really depend on the situation, how far along the new room is in the construction stage, etc.

i wont even begin building the room until i move into my new house...ill be moving to the carolinas in about 6 months and am just basically trying to get some ideas for when i do start to build my theater
Best way to get ideas is to read some of the longer build threads and the pinned threads located on the top of this forum. It will take you around 6 months to do the reading, so that should work out just right in your case. :)

lol...sounds like a joy! ha!
The acoustic master thread is a bear to get through, but worth the effort. Personally I find reading build threads fun, even if some of them are 3000+ posts long. :)
