Hello,

I'm in the market for a 1080p projector for the basement HT I'm finishing up and could use some advice. I'd like to have the projector behind the seating area and therefore a longer throw than my current Benq 8700+.

Here are the room specs:
-Screen area is 140" total across but I'll need space at the side for speakers (Def BP30s).
-Desired seating is 12' away from the screen for the first row and there will be a second row.
-Desired projector mount on the ceiling will be 18' or so away from the screen.
-Ceiling height will be 6'10"
-The room has only small windows and they will be well curtained so I'll have great light control (this time!).

Yikes. I had already established an absolute ceiling of 4k but I'll have to see what else is out there and readily available.

Unless you are one grand under MSRP warrantied in the above $3000 bracket you have no deal IMHO, but let's not upset the whip-daddy :)
