Done!?! I swear it was like only a week ago that you started. Damn that makes me feel slow... :)
Anyway, congratz on finishing (almost) your room. :)
oman321 09-25-07, 12:57 PM Looks good.... Those are Berklines 088 right, they look nice. How do you like them.

HA! We started in May so it has taken a bit longer. But it really comes together quickly at the end. Plus I'm a type A personality so it's go-go-go. I actually made the carpet guys come back last night just to finish the job. (they did not bring enough carpet the first time). Wife is working this weekend (f'in hospital) so I should be able to get my panels built.
And yes those are 88's and I love them. I ordered them form Roman some time ago and they have been sitting in my garage. It's nice to finally see them.
Are you sure those are 088s? They look like 45003s. They have the back cushion of the 088s with the armrest width of the 090s. The 088s have narrower armrests (narrower than the cupholders, even).
whiskey alpha 09-25-07, 03:17 PM sorry that's my fault. They are 078's. The ones roman had on special. They are very comfy.
dc_pilgrim 09-26-07, 09:50 AM Since May? Speed kills, you know?
I am just jealous. Congrats and enjoy. What movie was the premiere?
chinaclipper 09-26-07, 10:04 AM You're NEVER done, right???
I am already thinking of what I have to do next....
Come on... You're NEVER really done in this hobby, are you?!?!?! There is always something to do, or tweat, or finish...

whiskey alpha 09-26-07, 10:53 AM I'm hoping to enjoy it sometime. Did not even get to use it last night. The cabinets that hold the popcorn and butter machine needed to be installed last night. They put up one hell of a fight and took me about 2 1/2 hrs to install. I was so tired after that I mad emy wife dinner and went to bed. Hopefully tonight. I still need to get my center channel painted or stained. Not sure which yet. And then the panels for the front and the linacoustic.
The picture turned out crappy. The walls are actuallymuch darker than they look.
First movie, although we did not make it all the way through.-Finding Nemo-
My wife loves it. The colors and picture were awesome!
Very good looking room. I like the colors.
Fuzzybear50 09-28-07, 10:49 AM Very nice and simplified. What are your room dimensions, ceiling height?
whiskey alpha 09-28-07, 12:32 PM Thanks, we wanted very simple and elegant. Not a lot of clutter. We still have to hang the plasma in the family room, but progress is slow. I did get my center channel stand painted last night and the wire cleaned up, dvd's put away, etc.
The pictures make the room look a bit small. Overall dimensions are 23'1" by 14' with 8ft ceilings. Screen is a Carada 114" so that will give you some reference. I'll snap some more pics this weekend as we got some pictures hung and the popcorn machine installed.
tonybradley 09-28-07, 12:37 PM Nice room.
Did you make the stand for your center speaker? If so, what did you use, I like it.
Fuzzybear50 09-28-07, 01:22 PM You are right, the pictures do make the room look smaller. I would have guessed a much smaller area. The double doors are a nice touch and overall setup looks really good.
luclin999 09-28-07, 01:33 PM Very nice indeed...
I am also curious about the stand for the center. Store bought or home made?
whiskey alpha 09-28-07, 03:28 PM center stand was made by yours truly. Nothing to hard. I took a 4x4 solid oak post cut them to 12" and then made a 6 degree cut on the top. The bottom and tops are solid oak 1x10's with a small lip along the back to keep the speaker from sliding back. I needed something very sturdy as the new CC-390 from Paradigm weigh about 1000 lbs. Just joking, but the thing is a monster I would guess around 75lbs and 38" long. The stand was painted last night and it looks awesome. Plus the 4x4 center post gives me enough room to tack the speaker cable to the back of it so you cannot see it.
Splicer010 09-28-07, 03:31 PM Nice!!!

Nice HT though!
Nice job, enjoy the new theater!
scottyb 09-30-07, 10:26 AM NICE!!!
Really like the family feel of the posters you picked.
Glad you painted the center stand black, that stuck out in the first set of pics.
You did a great job!!
