Hi folks,

Finishing up my theatre and looking at buying some seating. I don't qualify for the HT Authority Powerbuy as my remote location precludes me from shipping, so no Berklines/Coasters/etc. for me, I have to buy local (thanks anyway Serge!).

The nicest chairs by far locally are the Lane Hollywoods, I have read some nice feedback on these items through the forum.

My question: for those who have had them delivered, do they come broken down for easy moving into the house? I have 32" doorways and a tight 180 degree turn on the stairs, with a low ceiling to boot.

Dimensions per chair are W=45, D=41, H=41. Salesperson said the back comes off, so the height may come down then to 20 inches? I should be ok if that is true. But I always like to check with buyers first, just to gauge their experiences.

Any further comments on quality/comfort of these chairs is appreciated also.

My 4 chairs arrived a couple of weeks ago, the back was separate from the bottom so they easily fit into my house. They are extremely comfortable and have received great feedback from the people who have sat in them so far.

I also had a couple of them delivered last week, and they came in one piece. They were still able to get them in by reclining them through a 30 inch door. And I believe they are the most comfortable chairs I have sat in. If you did not know Lane is a division of Thomasville which makes excellent high priced furniture

I did not know that actually, there is a Thomasville retailer in the city also but I don't believe they carried any Lane items, so I bought it from a Lane retailer.

They are comfortable enough to sit in for 8 hours, and recline at just the right angle so that I don't fall asleep.

The people at Lane told me if they took the same chair and put it into one of their Thomasville stores the price would be tripled just for the name alone. I agree they do recline at just the right angle and the leather was top notch. I did the leather/vinyl match and you cannot tell what is the vinyl.

For what it's worth, I've had Lane's for 4 years and even at over 250 lbs. the chairs are still in great shape and as comfortable as ever.

One negative with these is that they are not attached, so when someone pushes back to recline the chairs can get out of line. Of course mine are on hardwood so that is not helping. Anyone join these together, or use carpet or something to make them less slippery? They won't incline on carpet though, so it is a bit of a dilemma.
