I am having at party in a couple of weeks, everyone is bring the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players, HTPC set-up, XBox360 and ps3 as well , and 2 differant tv set-ups(4 in all so far). Still working on getting a few differant AVR's too.

What movies do you suggest to benchmark that are dual fromat?
We will do movies that are not dual format as well.

thanks for any suggestions, will post final set-up's later.

Flags of our Fathers is one of the few releases that has different video encodes for each format. AVC on BD and VC1 on HD DVD.

I don't see much point in trying to compare those with identical encodes; so that would leave out most of the Warner movies (as far as pq goes). I think pretty much all of the pre-split Paramount movies used separate encodes, and others such as Natures Journey would be interesting to compare.

How about some domestic (US) Blu-ray releases vs. European HD DVDs? Prestige, Underworld, and Silent Hill comes to mind. I am sure there are many others.
