Since this new PQ Reference Sticky replaced the original Tier Thread, the thread has nearly died.

The amount of posts have been cut in half, and updates to the thread take forever because hardly anyone votes.

Although most of it is a copy of the original tier thread, new titles take forever to be rated, and when they are rated, they are based on a few people voting.

To rate a movie based on 10 private votes is absolutely absurd. It would be much better to rate them based on people giving opinions and comparing them to other movies they've seen.

But since that doesn't happen anymore, we need a ton of votes for each movie to get a realistic PQ scale, and right now we just don't have it.

SO PLEASE, if there is any movie you've watched recently, GO AND VOTE!!!!

That was the advantage of Fett's original thread...he just put whatever he felt like and then people would jump in to agree or disagree. Now that it is voluntary, nobody cares. I voted on a few movies and it didn't seem to make any difference so now I don't bother anymore.

I used to consult Fett's tiering thread before buying a new HDDVD title. Now, I mostly rely on published ratings by magazine pros. Because of this, my purchases since then of HDDVDs have been few and far between in favor of SDVDs

Why you don't tell us about those placements in the thread then? We are trying to use polls to be democratic, but if there is something "ridiculous" in the poll outcomes, we can overrule it. We just need a valid reason too. Any contribution or suggestion is welcome. :)

And more importantly, to the OP is right. We need more votes to get accurate placements. Now many movies still got the Fett placements because there are not enough votes to make a valid average.

BTW: Iggster practically committed theft when he established the current thread and had to be badgered to come up with the current system, which hypocrites who run it still have the right to manipulate. It was bad when Fett was non-democratic, but you overrule votes all the time.
