View Full Version : Is it possible to mount the Pearl or Black Pearl in an open cabinet? reio-ta 09-26-07, 08:32 PM . scottyb 09-26-07, 08:38 PM This should work well, I would just figure something more stable than a pad or a towel. I used handle stops for a door once for a projector. Go to your local hardware store and tell them what you need and they should be able to figure out something.. But the concept is fine. kraigk 09-27-07, 10:48 AM Reio-ta, Ventilation is going to be key. Does your cabinet have all sides closed except for the front? If yes the best bet is going to be to cut a hole (if possible) in the back of the cabinet as large as possible to allow the rear of the pj to exhaust. FYI - The RS1 and 2 intake and exhaust air from the front of the projector and would be less of a ventialtion problem. I've done several hushboxes in the past and experimented with a slew of fans. There are only a few out there that move enough air out to be useful and don't make too noise to be worthwile. Charles R 09-27-07, 05:53 PM I installed a Pearl upside down on a shelf. I simply used a large piece of 1" or so thick foam. To get it perfectly level (with the screen) I slid a few business cards under one side and that was that. I have done similar with two other projectors without any issues. Based on the Pearl's intake and exhaust I'd mount the projector as much as possible towards the front of the shelf. |
