My local store had two with all accessories in box. Retail regular price at CC is $169. Considering this unit has dv input, best LP record mode quality, dvd-ram chase playback, same warranty ,return policy and hdmi upconversion, this is a very good buy. This was 2nd production batch made in Jan 2007. Also have your local store run a citywide computer check for OB's at other CC or BB stores. At least 90% of these returns are VCR TO DVDR of technically deficient types (millions and millions) AND/OR also those that speak little English that could not figure out how to operate these units- and my gosh Panny is one of the easiest- Philips, Liteon etc are really screwed. This is opportunity for smart buyers at this time.
PS- You ONLY need the new 2007 atsc tuner models IF you WANT to record over the air and do or do not have cable/sat. AND you only need QAM IF you want to NOT use a set top box for cable/sat.ota is generally the same as cable/sat for recording quality in 90% of systems. The new atsc systems-dvdrs- have dropoffs-no doubt. Bugs galore for recording ota signals. They need a lot of time and future production.
