I got it today and was planning on being excited by the new PQ. Well my Onkyo TX-705 showed mulitpcm +THX light as it should. So far so good. Then I notice the audio is a little weird. But I remember that the soundtrack was changed. So I stick with it a little longer. Still seems bad.

I change the audio from TrueHD to DD, no difference. The sound is like listening to something from a broken speaker. Terrible.

I try all the soundtracks, no difference.

I hope it's just a bad disc.

So I go for the trusty back-up. My Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive. Now this doesn't happen to go through the HDMI like the rest of my equipment. This goes to the gaming toslink audio jack.

The sound is perfect. No problem whatsoever, aside from no truehd.

Am I the only one that has experienced this? Could this be the HD-A2 having problems with this disc? HDMI?

I'm really bummed that the audio isn't right on the HD-A2.

Nevermind. The 2.2 software had issues, didn't realize 2.5 had been released. Updated the player software and now it works fine.

well he thought the problem was with his disc, but it should still have gone to the HD DVD software forum instead of here.
