This got burried elsewhere as I posted at the end of someone else's post so hopefully I'll get some responses to this one :)

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the whole projector scene though a few years ago I did use an NEC. Anyway, I too am looking at getting a projector (in time for Christmas incase that affects any recommendations) but I'm not sure what to go for (or where to look!).
I'm looking to spend around $4k too (though less is not a bad thing!) and ideally I would like something that's HD compatible and fairly quiet as it'll be used primarily as a home cinema projector.
The room is a 1 windowed room and I'm planning on getting a screen that'll go in front of that so there's not a great deal of light to worry about but if I can use it in the office every now and again that'd be a bonus. The room atm is 3m ish wide if that's a factor but we're probably going to move soon so it may be bigger than this.
I've been looking at the Epson TW1000 which looks very nice but as I'd have to import it to get a good deal (I live in the UK) I'm open to alternatives...
TIA
Tim
