I am trying to hook up wireless headphones to my tv but I can't seem to get them to work. All I have is a HD Cablebox (cablevision) that is hooked up to my tv via a HDMI cable. The wireless headphones have a red and yellow composite cable but after trying what I think is every combination on my tv/cable box I just can't get them to work.
Any help with this would be great!

You didn't list your TV make/model, but most likely it doesn't output HDMI audio through the analog outputs (red/white). Your best bet is to try and hook up the headphones to the HD cablebox and see if your box supports analog and HDMI output simultaneously.

Look at the back panel of your TV. Some TV *might* have stereo audio outs that you can either connect to a receiver or headphones via RCA-miniplug adaptors.

Thanks for the replies guys. My TV is a LG 42LC2D. I am going to try and play with the connections again but I believe I have put the Yellow/Red cables that came with the headphones in every output I can find :(

I took a brief look at the user manual. There should be an output labeled "AV Out" that should give you audio. That's if your TV will output convert the digital output from the cablebox to analog output.
Chances are, you need to hook the headphones to the cable box, not the TV.

Pg 11 of your manual shows audio AV Out jacks. Two of these should be analog stereo (L/R or Red/White RCA jacks- yellow is composite vid). These should work if connected to your wireless base station. However on pg 24 there is a note about the AV out that implies this output is not available with some input sources.
• Component 1-2, RGB-PC, HDMI1/DVI,
HDMI2, DTV input sources cannot be used
for Monitor out.
• We recommend to use the video and audio
output jacks for VCR recording.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to try and hook up the wireless base station to the cable box again tonight when I get home.
Thanks!

OK, got it to work!
Turns out the cable I was trying to use was no good. I swapped them out with my VCR cables and it worked when I connected it to my cable box.
Thanks again for all the help!
