Hi all.
I spent the day today putting up a 96" screen to go along with my Infocus 4805 (lent to me by a friend who is upgrading). Once set-up, I plugged in my DVD player (Panasonic RP-56) and found that the remote was dead. For some reason, the player is stuck on 4:3 aspect ratio and I can no longer access the players menu!
Question 1 - I used to work in the HT business and it was a huge rip-off when a customer needed a new remote...are replacement remotes still insanely expensive?
Question 2 - Would a new Panasonic DVD player's (ie DVDS533) remote work with my RP-56?
Question 3 - If I do decide to upgrade, what would you recommend for an upscaling DVD player at a reasonable price (would the Panny be a good one) keeping in mind that the projector does not have an HDMI connection and is a 480p native projector?
Question 4 - Now that HD DVD is under $300, would it make sense to buy a regular DVD player?
Many thanks all!
