hello all, maybe someone else has seen this. on my philips 3505/37(1st model)i noticed while viewing a recorded program in the edit section, the picture quality is noticeably better than the playback which is ok itself.
(the program while being edited just runs in a loop until you finish)
just wondering if it's supposed to be this way or are there things i can do to improve the playback quality?
i'm just recording OTA w/antenaee w/component(no s-video or composite if that makes a difference)
thx

Please note that there is an existing Philips 3505/37 thread.
I believe that your better picture quality in the edit section is normal. I see the same thing with my Philips 3505 as well as my Panasonic too. I believe this is because the image is smaller on the edit screen than the full screen finalized playback. For example, when I watch the same homemade DVD on a smaller screen TV, it looks sharp. When I watch the same thing on a bigger screen, it doesn't look as good.
In addition, someone in another thread wrote that the Philips recording was great but the playback was good but not the best per Consumer Reports.
Also, don't be alarmed if you notice that the audio is lower on the digital than on the analog. I'm sure that the forum users are tired of my rants about this by now.
