Hey all, I am currently going for a trip to NYC for 2 weeks. Since the prices of the vpl-vw60 are in the range of 7200 USD here in Norway I thought I might as well buy the damn thing while I am over there :p

The only problem is that I am newbie when it comes to find shops and stuff, so I was wondering if you guys have some recommendations of where I can call to get a quote and such.

Appreciate the help in this matter :)

Edit: Bugger all, I think I've made a newbie mistake of the day, seems like its not allowed to discuss where to buy threads... If you could I would appreciate if you could pm me the information, if this thread survives for that long...

Regards Christian

Since you will be in NY for 2 weeks, why not give the fine folks and sponsors of the AVS Forum a call:

A/V Science, Inc.
PO Box 15499
Rochester, NY 14615
585-454-1460 (main line)

Already did :)

Edit: I posted this before i realized that they were not far away from NYC. So I think I'll just get it from them if we can work something out. Im not that good at US geography so it took me some time to figure it out...

Upstate NY though :) I love AVS, but I made the drive once to visit some friends and its not my thing. It is doable drive in under 6 hours though.

I'll say AVS as well, but in case they can't hook you up...

J&R Music World
B&H Photo Video

Both are Sony authorized and you can get decent pricing (plus the 8+% sales tax). :) I don't know if you can just walk in, pick one up, and walk out (somehow, I doubt it), but their warehouses are close by and they will probably ship it to the store in a day or so.

I gotta say Rochester and NYC are FAR apart. I can drive 2 states in the other direction in the same time I think that it takes to get to Rochester.

Though I still think AVS would be a good place to support still :-). If you have an address they can ship to while your in NY that could help.

As far as walking in and grabbing one and walking out goes, B&H would probably be a good bet because I think they keep everything in stock.

Wow I just realized Rochester NY is about half the distance from Toronto as it is from New York City! And that includes driving around Lake Ontario...

NYC referral sent via PM.
We are pretty far from NYC, I can imagine the business increase if we were in the big city!

Thanks for the reply and comments guys, much appreciated. It has given me a working basis on whom to ask for prices and such.
