My configuration is as above, running Ubunti 7.04, with Eth0 connected to the world through a router, and Eth1 connected directly (and only) to the HDHR. There is no firewall set up.

I installed the required DHCP server, and HDHRconfig discover works fine - the OS knows the HDHR is there and I can run VLC with the HDHR.

The problem is that MythTV doesn't seem to know the HDHR exists. WHen doing a setup channel scan, the screen remains blank.... forever.

If I hook up the HDHR to the router (Eth0) however, it works fine. I could leave it like this, but it's one more piece of hardware hanging where I don't want it, and for enet bandwidth considerations, I'd like to have them on two different ports.

Any idears?

Thanks,

Jim

When you setup each tuner on the HDHR in mythtv-setup did you use the actual device ID or did you use FFFFFFFF? Which ever one you used, maybe try the other?

I'd ask this on the HDHR support forum where the actual techs that made it can answer

hdhomerun forums (http://www.9thtee.com/hdhrtech.htm)

This was a known problem with MythTV's HDHR discovery. I think it was fixed several months ago in the 0.20-fixes branch and 0.21svn. What version of MythTV are you using?

I just got an answer on the silicondust forums that this is an issue with MythTV 0.20. The latest release has a fix.

Thanks y'all.

Which fix? Was this the one that added the Schedules Direct portion as well?

If you go with 0.20.2, it has BOTH the Schedules Direct fix and the Myth/HDHomeRun dual NICs fix.
