I setup the Winegard Area Special (royal 17) for my area (Grand Rapids MI) with a WG HDP-269 (12dB) preamp, US Digital ATSC Tuner and HD capable 57" Sony TV.
My question is on the tuner. Previously, I subscribed to Comcast digital where I used their DVR. The HD reception with their DVR box was astounding, very crisp. I have long discontinued my digital subscription (too expensive) and had acquired the US Digital tuner with the above setup. But the HD reception although clear is not as good as the Comcast cable DVR box.
Will a better quality tuner improve my reception? If so, any suggestions? Thanks
