Can the ps3 be connected via 'standard' component cables like those sold here?
http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/component/index.htm

Or does it require a special cable like the ps2 and xbox needed?

Also, can I hook up a standard pc USB gamepad to the ps3? How about a USB headset/mic?

Thanks!

I think there was a thread here a while ago with someone claiming to have connected a regular gamepad and having no problems (of course there is no sixaxis functionality). Same thing for USB headsets ... don't know if theres a list of compatible models though. And about the cables, I'm suffering from a hangover so I'm not looking back there right now sorry ;)

It uses speclialized cables for composite, component, and S-Video, but any HDMI will do.
