First is no convergence adjustments to worry about at all. The displays will be brighter and a lot sharper. Next you will finally have a HDMI input so you can work with a upconversion DVD player, or step right up to a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player at 1080P. Additionally you will have not only a NTSC tunner, but also a ATSC (HD) tuner for broadcast, and a QAM for digital cable. So go buy what suits you best!

I agree, except: try to check your choice on SD(standard definition pixs, not HD) b4--else you may be surprised when you get it home.

A Samsung HLT5687S. It recently dropped about $40 at Amazon. After 50 reviews the customers love it. Amazon customers love the bigger 61" model as well. "DLP rocks" as one customer commented. However, that model hasn't dipped below $2000, but getting kinda close.
