I'm planning to have a wire chase to my ceiling mounted projector running to the front of the room and into my equipment closet. I want to run the electrical for the projector to the equipment closet too (as well as the HDMI cable).
Is there additional shielding needed between the HDMI cable and the electrical cable to prevent interference for the HDMI signal? Or, are quality HDMI cables shielded enough to tolerate a close electrical cable?
If I need shielding, does anyone sell shielding to wrap the HDMI cable (or the electrical)? The wire chase is around 6" wide and 4" high. If I need shielding, the wire chase would accommodate two 2" diameter tubing with shielding in it to create two wire chases within the one.
I haven't really seen any shielding available to buy, but maybe some sort of foil lined tubing?
Or, maybe just a metal tube for the electrical cable?
I won't need to change the electrical cable in the future, but there is a high likelihood of needing to change out the HDMI cable (if this technology continues to advance).
