There may be a simple solution to this but i got my new dish installed last week but i was in germany so i could not supervise the installation, well i can access the original 8 hd channels but i cannot get any of the new ones it just says searching for satellite signal, does anyone know what is going on i have reset the box but still no signal on these channels. I have gone on their website and it says you need 2 b band converters i only have one does that have anything to do with it. I have the hr 20. Thanks!

You need 2 BBCs, one for each tuner. Did the tech aim the dish and test for the new sats?

Look at your signal strengths for sat 103b - that is where the new HD content is coming from.

Also check that the filter / connection out of the wall is one of the new ones the old ones wont cut it. ( 4 years old or older.)

Also, check the setup in your receiver and make sure it is set for the 5 LNB dish.

Also, make sure there is no diplexer in the line.

There are a lot of idiots out there installing DTV. My original installer hooked up the DVR and another HD receiver without the BBCs and wondered why I wasn't receiving the new HD content!
