Hello everyone,
I am going to frame a room with staggered stud construction, i was just wondering when the walls are framed and then raised into place should the frames of each wall be touching and nailed to each other or should there be about a 1" gap between and not touching. Also when framing one big wall that will be two seperate partitions they will be joined together should these also touch or not?
Thanks

Your question is confusing, but i think you are asking if corners are tied together, yes, they are, you use 2 extra 2x4's (or 2x6's with staggered stud) to create a nailing surface.
You absolutely MUST tie sections together, one issue with that question is that if you are asking it then you may be doing things wrong already, so you might want to pick up a framing basics book at your local big box store. You need to have a Top plate on framed walls, this will tie sections together, and a double top plate if load bearing.

Are you talking about the corners?

Not the best picture but here is one of my corners using staggered studs.
Note: just noticed the exterior studs are not yet installed (except the corner one) in the right wall in this picture.
