need help,have a motorola dct6416 dvr a panasonic dmr-ez47v dvd -recorder,and a vizio hdtv. want to record dvr to dvd recorder need to know best connections. thanks

View Full Version : dvr to dvd picture no sound rpayne 09-30-07, 01:31 PM need help,have a motorola dct6416 dvr a panasonic dmr-ez47v dvd -recorder,and a vizio hdtv. want to record dvr to dvd recorder need to know best connections. thanks kjbawc 09-30-07, 10:55 PM Assuming you don't have a AV receiver, the best connection is to run S-Video out, and R/L line audio out, from the Moto to the DVD recorder. You could also run either HDMI, or component + R/L audio from the Moto to the TV, and likewise from the DVD recorder to the TV. I would also run S-Video + R/L audio from the DVD recorder to the TV. And, I would run the incoming cable to the DVD recorder, then to the Moto. The DVDR only passes through the cable signal, but having the raw cable connected directly to the DVDR will let you record analog channels directly on the DVDR, using its timer, while you watch, and or record, something else on the Moto. Having the additional S-Vid running from the DVDR to the TV will let you watch the DVDR in the PIP, while you watch the Moto in the main picture. This will let you monitor recordings while you watch something else, or do side by side comparisons when dubbing from the Moto to the DVDR, besides all the normal uses of the PIP. |
