Ok. If these lens come off of a Barco 909 and these are still in production, then althought it cost more money can't you just buy a new set direct from Barco?

As for 1292 Yokes can't you get them from Sony anymore?

the hfq900 costs thousands of dollars...when you buy them from barco.

figure thousands - each - for the lenses...

about 1500/set for the yokes, if you can find them in stock,
someone said there was a set at Sony, Canada, a while ago.

Yokes for G90 about 2100/set, again, finding them???

Yea. And hope you can find a person stupid enough to sell them to you for a song. Though I have neither, you just gotta have these. It is clear that your CRT will be inferior and even second or third rate without them. You can get the yokes off a Sony 1292 and you can easily pick one up for $1500 to $1800. Anybody who would sell one for less given the demand for the yokes and the lens on them, alas the lenses are a very poor second to the lenses you want and need not to have a second rate projector. Without the yokes and lenses you will perhaps give up 1% of the PQ you would have otherwise. I don't think you could live with that, could you?

Step up to the plate and pay the prices, its only money. Its not stupid, its a CRT.

Flame on.

Why stop there Mark, buy a set of new LUG's too!

hmmm... I think I've heard of someone stupid enough to do all that already... in fact, he did it twice!

You can certainly get a brand new set made from 3M, but I'm thinking you should talk to Art first. Cost of 3 may exceed his new digital PJ.

Kanto Denshi is no longer producing coils but for a price they may be interested.

While you are getting this all accomplishede please find me a 300SL Gullwing at 1958 prices.

If it was not so obvoius that you did no research, I would be less of an ass.

Jim is just having some fun with his new hobby,
no need to pick on him....Sure, it is true that without
a perfect setup and great sources, a lot of these mods
might be hard to see the difference, and sure, he could do a lot
of research - which might all seem pretty well mumbojumbo
to someone without a technical background....But, new crt
enthusiasts are hard to come by these days, so lets have
some fun, OK?

Gino. He didn't ask about the LUGs. You can indeed buy those over the counter from VDC and they aren't all that expensive. Please understand, i am not criticising you. You have the ultimate in e-home blends. Of course once you mod it all up, change the lenses, yokes, tubes to nonstock, is it really an e-home or are you just using some e-home parts anymore.

I think someone here needs to design a CRT projector from the ground up. Design it for digital in and blending and stacking from the get go. The goal is 2 stacks blended. Apply for an NSF grant to fund it.
