i have installed on the ceiling my barco graphics 800 using barco lens program data: i have a 118 inches widht screen and for that distance the lens program suggested a 162 inches projector distance, i used a little bit more around 170 inches butthe image is larger then expected, i have to set the H size on a 10/99 value with the composite input to not exceed the screen width limits and with 720p 50hz from htpc the image still exceedes the screen size....
i think i am using a small part only of the phosphorus area of the tubes,
have i to reduce the projection distance?
thanks,
Stefano.

162 inches is measured from front bracket, not from lenses. Usually best distance is few inch closer what lens program gives.

yes it's 167-168 from the front bracket, so if the calculated distance is 162 and the optimal is 162-2=160in i have to reduce the Pj dist of around7-8 inches.... the raster on my tubes where centered from a professional technician in the past installation, so i didn't touch it, the only value changed is the H size in the convergence menu, i think 10 is a very small value but which is the optimal value? 99 seems to be too much
Can 8inch difference in the projector distance change so much in the h size value??
thanks again
i think 10 is a very small value but which is the optimal value? There is no optimal value, since there is so many things that affect to needed Hsize value. Like resolution, source porch settings, etc. Sometimes Hsize adjustment from menu doesn't even have enough adjustment range...
You can adjust Hsize so that picture edge is about 1/6 inch from phosphorus edge and then move projector as close it takes to mach screen size...
