I've had the PS3 since March and have only watched a blue-ray on it twice. I have watched many DVDs and everything was working perfectly. This weekend I threw in the blue-ray version of The Departed and only the sound was being transmitted from the PS3. I have my PS3 hooked up through my HDMI reciever via HDMI. The sound plays through the reciever, but no video signal is being transmitted. Games and regular DVDs still work fine. I also tried connecting the PS3 directly to the TV and still got no video signal, just audio. I also tried another blue-ray and the same thing happened.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions or is this a hardware problem?

Go to BD/DVD options and make sure 24fps is turned off.

You can also set this to automatic, and it "should" also work. If you want to avoid any confusion, you can go ahead and set it to off, as this poster suggests.
