It's an LCD, probably a KDS 55A3000, doesn't matter what input. it's either a burn in resembling the outline of the on screen menu or some image retention that does not go away. When inquiring with Sony, they say that the LCD projection models previous to 2 years ago suffer burn in.

Anybody know what's up?

Thanks,
Dan C

LCoS shouldn't have any burn in... if its an A3000, it would be an LCoS projector. LCD projections can get something resembling burn in if physically damaged by excessive heat, impact, or similar issues.

These sets cannot burn in but some owners of A3000 have complained of ghosting, which may be what you're seeing. That's a manufacturing defect not burn-in. Check the relevant threads on this forum for endless detail.
