Hi,

Anyone know of any sites specializing in selling vintage or antique theater items? ie, signage, poster display cases, billboards, signage, exit signs, seats, lighting, lobby items, etc?

The items I've found so far (1930's brass exit sign, Revere 8mm projector, vintage theater fabric used to cover some throw pillows) have all been crowd pleasers and I'd love to find and add more. In some way it adds a little authenticity and history to my vintage decor HT.

Any leads and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Stu

Not sure if you've seen it or not but check out retroplanet.com.

Ken,

Thanks, but when I try that site I'm redirected to a site called Piens MusicPlanet from the Netherlands.

P.S. Everyone loves the 090's I bought from you a few months ago.

Sorry, I was trying to do too many things at once- it's retroplanet.com. I have corrected the original post.

I didn't realize that was you, Stu. I'm glad you're enjoying the Berklines!

They used to be known as "VintageVending" and for a time also had a RetroPlanet. You were close, Ken... :)
I purchased from them a few times in 2005 and had no complaints, and they had good customer relations. Good source for true vintage/retro gift. :)

Exactly. I went to vintagevending and was redirected to their new URL and mistakenly keyed in vintage instead of retro when typing the URL. They have a nice site and some nice looking products- some suitable for home theater.

Stu,

anything in particular that you are looking for? What era? Etc....? I have a bunch of old stuff myself and also produce one of a kind reproduction pieces. My wife and I have been collecting this type of stuff for years, some time back she seen a counter top lobby card display that a guy had, he didnt want to sell it so she persuaded me to make a "copy" of it. The original had a clock in the top of it, I plan to put a clock in this one, I just have not found the right one yet.
