Hi folks.
Most folks seem to have problems when their video lags from the audio using tv's that do processing of the signal (thus inducing the lag).
Unfortunately, i have the flipside of this problem. I get over the air tv signals (using an antenna) and so i use the tv's internal ATSC or NTSC tuner. I then route the audio out of the TV and into my receiver (i don't use the TV speakers).
My receiver seems to lag so that I see people's lips move before the audio is heard.
Is there anything I can do about this?
Also, i'm in the process of buying a LCD (most likely an Sony 46XBR4) if that makes a difference.

Maybe we can help if you supply us with some more info.
What type of audio output are you using from the TV to the receiver?
Also, what type of TV and receiver are you using?
This way we know what connections are available. We may possibly be able to suggest an alternate connection.

I'm in the process of buying a new TV and maybe receiver/amp, so let me describe my current setup and then i'll describe what i'm hoping to do...
For now I have a circa 1993 Sony 20" CRT TV (KV-20V50) and a 2-3 year old Yamaha RX-V650 tuner. The only audio output available from the TV is the stereo rca output jacks which i have configured in "fixed" mode. I'm not using the speakers on the TV.
I'm going to buy a flat panel TV (given current specs and such, i'm leaning towards either the sony 46XBR4 or something similar, maybe the JVCLT-47X898 if it ends up being good). I'd like to have a similar audio setup where I route the audio through my receiver/amp and don't use the TV speakers. I'm not sure what type of outputs i'd end up using to go from the TV to the receiver/amp. Will this make a difference?
Like i mentioned in my original post, I don't have cable or satellite, so I would like to use the TV's internal ATSC/NTSC tuner to receive tv stations. This is why i get the reverse problem where the audio trails the video by a fraction of a second.
I'm thinking that i may need to get a new receiver/amp because the RX-V650 doesn't have any HDMI inputs/outputs, to get all the best out of a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player, however i'm not sure about that.
Thanks for your help!
