From RFD TV:

Could anything be more beautiful on TV than rural America in high-definition?

RFD-TV is proud to announce the launch of RFD HD, this company’s new 24-hour television channel. RFD HD will create even more original programming to better serve our viewers and fans of this family-oriented network. More agriculture, equine, rural lifestyle, video auctions, and traditional music and entertainment — all in a 1080i high-definition format on your screen.

The 2nd channel will essentially double the capacity of the time available for our program schedule and take some of the pressure off of RFD-TV. Many existing RFD-TV programmers are already gearing up with new productions for the new channel. RFD HD will be the perfect home for many of the video auctions to transfer, as highdefinition will only enhance the picture quality of the cattle or horses being offered for sale. That benefits buyers, sellers, and the viewing public, while reducing the number of auction interruptions on the regular RFD-TV channel.

RFD-TV The Theatre in Branson, Mo., is installing state-of-the-art HD cameras to record and broadcast your favorite entertainers in this new format. Willie Nelson in HD – you bet! Horse shows, tractor pulls, and rodeos in HD – of course.

RFD HD will officially launch on Nov. 1 on many of the same satellite and cable systems that now carry RFDTV. RFD HD is being offered as a basic channel to your system’s HD package, to be included with all of their other HD basic channels (ESPN HD, Discovery HD, CNN HD, etc.) carried by your cable or satellite provider. Viewers interested in receiving RFD HD should contact their local cable and/or national satellite system provider to request and/or confirm that your system will be carrying RFD HD.

I have to admit I have watched this channel a lot in the past, and even sent in my membership fee.

Two Reasons I have watched:

1. Railroad programming (A lot)
2. No Commercials.

Obviously, D* will carry it. Right?

Carriers TBD, but I'd say DirecTV would be very likely.

I've flipped through the channel and each time there is horse racing on. Personally not my cup of tea. But if they have a good bit of lifestyle type stuff that actually could be quite stunning. I'd be interested in it.

Can I put my request in for them not to stretch 4:3 SD content?

I used to love this channel for the polka show and the tractor parades!

Classic Tractor, on sunday nights eastern time, is great.

I like the railroad shows and large farm equipment shows too.

D* listed it a while ago as being one of the stations it will add.
