First of all let me say the question is for my brother who is remote control and electronics lacking and does not have the time for forums.

I recently was in another thread and it was mentioned that channel 9 and 11 in NYC was available thru Directv, I asked how that could be but never got a reply so I thought I ask in a separate thread.

My brother has the sports and local package and HD package but can not get channels 9 & 11.

is there another package he needs, he gets the regular locals in HD just SD for 2-4-5-7- and also 80-88 NY feeds. I have directv and have checked and do not see any other packages. is there a NYC package that I would not see if I do not log into his account ?

he called about two years ago and the CS said that directv did not have an agreement with those channels.


Is channels 9 & 11 available in NYC and any other packages or advice ?

SD versions are available locally, NOT HD on D*TV (same with PBS 13 by the way) -- not sure with new launch whether this will change anytime soon. O/T -- one of the many reasons I still have my local cable in HD in addition to D*TV...

thanks i thought so, the guy at the other thread was wrong.
He seemed so sure of it I figured my brother missed something.
