I have a Mits WD 65-833 with the 120 hz. when I have this feature on, the picture to me looks like junk. Yes its taking out the motion blur for the most part, but but I can see what I think is a screen door effect. My wife sees it also. Its almost like the picutre is slideing over the screen. Its really wierd. I dont have a blue ray player or an HD DVD player that does 24fps. I only have the xbox HD DVD player. I know that the 120hz is suppose to help give you more of a film feel when you are in 24fps. But what about with broadcasts that are still not in 24fps. Is that the reason for the apparent screen door effect. Again turn this feature off and the PQ is amazing.

There have been reports of better PQ on some sources with the 120hz thing off on other 120hz displays too. Interesting for sure, its pretty new stuff, may take the manufacturers a little while to get this working perfectly for all source resolutions and/or fram rate material.

I have to turn off my 24hz Cinema Reality thing for some broadcast movies it seems as well, so maybe it's not just a 120hz thing too.

I too am having that screen door effect. I just bought a Sharp 46d82u....a great tv but I am very disappointed with the quality of my HDDVD movies on it. At this point I wish I stayed away from the 120hz it might be too new.

Hi Dodkalm81,

How's your gaming experience with the 120hz option turned on? I'm asking because this is one of the TVs that I'm looking into. Can you tell the difference when playing your Xbox 360 games in 60hz vs. 120hz?

Thanks,

If you don't have a source for 24 fps, and the PQ is amazing with the 120Hz off , just keep it off, when I'm not useing a 24fps source like PS3 etc, this is with i do, would think it's why it can be turn on/off

Have the 833, Yes you can tell the difference with the 120Hz, gaming is where the 120hz makes a big difference( for the better), had no motion blur at all, with tv set to game mode, and 120HZ, very smooth, great PQ ,the Mit and Sony A-3000 both do great for gaming.
