I am looking to buy TH-50PZ77U in the next couple of days. I am getting a really good deal (approx 20% discount) from panasonic direct through employee discount program. Their discount is pretty good on the TVs but their cost of 3 year warranty is the highest, which makes it not so good deal (consideraing you have to wait for 2 weeks for the shipment).
I would like to know (1) if I can buy TV from penny direct and buy warranty from somewhere else? (2) Is there are any risk from buying warranty from 3rd parties (3) Any recommendations for warranty companies?
Thanks in advance
Ross

Don't think I would spend more that 2 cents for a warranty on a penny plasma. ;)

I bought a MACK warranty for my Sharp LCD's but I just got the TV's so I haven't had to use them so I can't vouch for the company....
$120 3 year extended warranty on my 46"
$90 3 year extended warranty on my 37"

This is much better than $599 that Panasonic is offering for three years. I am also hoping that I will never have to use the warranty.
Thanks

Check out CPS (Consumer Priority Services). There are others out there as well. Most will let you buy the TV anywhere as long as it has the original manufacturers warranty. Most will give you 30 days within your display purchase.

Ordered my 77u from Penny direct on Thursday. Seems like it will be delivered tomorrow. I was given the incorrect info last time by one of the agents. Penny Warranty cost $299 for three years through the EPP discount and I can buy within a year of the purchase date. Now, its time to gather info/resources for break-in, setup, calibration, and HD. Any good forum links? Thanks

I think it's Penny Sonic. It's run by the same company as Flea Bay.:)
