First time out I had a vp42 and upgraded to a vp50 after power supply issues. Last night I had to return the vp50 because it was freezing up when trying to switch inputs, and then it would cycle into deep sleep every few minutes. I now looking for a good panel in the 50" size. Opinions please. Pros and cons of the panel you are suggesting would be nice as well. Thanks:cool:

The top choices are these:
Pioneer 5010FD (1080p) -- Deepest blacks, Great color accuracy, Great processing, Great out-of-box picture quality
Pioneer 5080HD (720p) -- Deepest blacks, Great color accuracy, Great processing, Great out-of-box picture quality
Panasonic 50PZ77U (1080p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Low video noise
Panasonic 50PZ700U (1080p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Low video noise
Panasonic 50PX77U (720p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Low video noise
Panasonic 50PX75U (720p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Low video noise
Panasonic 50PH10UK (720p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Low video noise
Samsung FTP5084 (1080p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Great processing
Samsung FTP5064 (720p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Great processing
Samsung FTP5054 (720p) -- Deep blacks, Great color accuracy, Great processing
This will give you a good start. Again their is no right or wrong answer on which one to choose. My choice would be the 5010, if you have the budget, however, I would go with the 50PZ77U as my second choice.

I'm looking at the following Panny 50" models, how would rank the following PDP's for HD content & blu-ray: 1) PX75 or 77U; 2) 50PH10UK; & 3) 50PH9UK? And because of the great price, the Panny 58PH10UK (what a bargan)? I've been thinking of buying the PZ77 or PZ700 unit but I'm afraid I sit to far away (10ft) to take advantage of 1080p.
