So far I am unable to dub from VHS to DVD using my brand new DMR EZ47V. I keep getting an error message stating "there may be a problem with the disc press enter to..." I have tried several different disc types including DVD-R and DVD+R has anyone else had this problem? Any solution? Please help...I am getting frustrated!!!

Is the tape a commercial, store bought movie? The unit will not dub such tapes with copy protection signals. Can you record to a disc directly, from the tuner, with no dubbing involved?
What name brands of the dvd media you've tried? Cheap blanks can cause problems.
Smudges and specs of dust can interfere with recording too. If good media is used, and no specs or smudges present, then the unit itself may be defective. Keep the receipt on hand, and if problems persist, take it back for exchange.

It was not a pre-recorded store bought tape. It was a blank VHS tape that had a personal recording on it that I was trying to put on DVD which is the reason I bought the unit in the 1st place.I was using HP DVD-R and also tried TDK DVD+R neither of which work...

Sounds like a bad drive. Have you just tried to get the drive to recognize a disc. Inserting the disc and seeing how the machine responds? i.e. Forgetting the VHS transfer thing while doing this?

I had something similar happen with mine. I turned the unit off for a few minutes (as soon as it would let me eject the disc, which took a couple of minutes in itselt). When I turned it back on and tried a different disc, all was OK.
good luck
